Indoor Air Photocatalytic Decontamination by UV–Vis Activated CuS/SnO2/WO3 Heterostructure

A titania-free heterostructure based on CuS/SnO2/WO3 was obtained by a three-step sol–gel method followed spray deposition the glass substrate. The samples exhibit crystalline structures and homogenous composition. WO3 single-component sample morphology consists of fibers that serve as substrate for SnO2 development. is characterized dense granular morphology. Photocatalytic activity evaluated under UV–Vis radiation indicates able to remove 41.1% acetaldehyde (64.9 ppm) 52.5% formaldehyde (81.4 ppm). However, exhibits superior photocatalytic due larger light spectrum absorption lower charge carrier recombination rate, allowing removal 69.2% 78.5% formaldehyde. reusability tests indicate have stable after three cycle (12 h/cycle) assessments. During irradiation, acted Z-scheme mechanism using redox ability CuS conduction band electrons SnO2/WO3 valence holes generate oxidative species required VOC removal.
